IMUGARD® III Leukocyte Filter System
IMUGARD III is a leukocyte removal filter system made from biocompatible polyurethane material. Highly porous, this material provides stable and rapid filtration of leukocytes and microaggregates.
Within the filter, patented technology ensures optimal pore size distribution and pore density. Entrapment of leukocytes is achieved mainly by pore size distribution within the filter, with very limited cell-material interaction. The absence of cell or protein activation yields blood products of very high purity.

IMUGARD III-RC for whole blood or red blood cells
The IMUGARD III-RC filter is a hard-housing filter designed to remove leukocytes and microaggregates from one unit of whole blood or red cell concentrate. Each filter system is equipped with a spike, clamps and tubing.
The filter housing material is semi-transparent to make monitoring the
filtration process easier.
IMUGARD III-RC filter systems are available in lab and bedside versions. The lab version features a bypass line for removing air from the transfer bag. The bedside version features a dripping chamber and a roller clamp below the filter to adjust flow to the patient.

The IMUGARD III-PL filter is a hard-housing filter designed to remove leukocytes and microaggregates from platelet preparations. Each filter system is equipped with a spike, clamps and tubing. The filter housing material is semi-transparent to make monitoring the filtration process easier.
Available in lab and bedside versions, the lab version features a bypass line for removing air from the transfer bag. The bedside version features a dripping chamber and a roller clamp below the filter to adjust flow to the patient.

IMUGARD III-S PL for platelets
The IMUGARD III-S PL filter is a soft-housing filter designed to remove leukocytes and microaggregates from single platelet preparations.
It is composed of:
- An air vent and tubing
- An empty platelet preservation bag to store units of platelets
- An empty pouch and a female luer connector to collect a sample
of platelet preparation for testing - A transfer tube to transfer the sample of platelet preparation for testing from the platelet preservation bag to the empty pouch
IMUGARD III-S PL is equipped with clamps on the connecting and transfer tubes to control blood flow. The platelet preservation bag has an outlet port for use in blood transfusion.
